General Information and Studio Policies


Professional Facilities & Location
Our complete air-conditioned facilities feature three professional dance studios and waiting room.  We are located at 20 Beharrell Street., West Concord, MA on the third floor, between the West Concord Post Office and the train station.

Parking
There is ample parking adjacent to our building and in the municipal parking lot located directly beside the WCDA.  Please respect parking areas not available to WCDA.

Student/Parent Handbook & Recital Handbook
Handbooks will be issued containing important details about our program.  Keep these for reference throughout the season.

Monthly Newsletter
Each month an important newsletter will be distributed.  A tuition envelope is included for your convenience.

Dress Code
Female: Leotard, tights, dancewear, proper shoes
No jeans, shorts, large shirts, tank tops, baggy clothing, street clothing, etc. are allowed
Hair: Neat bun or ponytail.  Bun is mandatory for all Ballet and Company Classes
Male: Dance pants or sweatpants, t-shirt, proper shoes
Shoes:  Ballet, Tap, or Jazz shoes, any style any color
Hip Hop: Athletic/exercise clothing, clean sneakers (used only for dancefloor) are permitted. 

Attendance
Weekly attendance is required and very important to the progress of your child and class. 
In the rare occasion that your child must be absent, you must notify the WCDA office.  We will recommend an appropriate make-up class.  Excessive absenteeism will result in losing class placement.  WCDA must be formally notified if your child discontinues enrollment.  Tuition must be paid whether classes are attended or not.

Make-Up Lessons
Make-Up classes are available, check with WCDA office for times available.  Make-Up classes are not mandatory but must be redeemed within 30 days of absence.

Calendar September-May
(dance year)
The dance calendar for students is similar to the public school schedule, with most holidays and school vacations off.  Holiday closings will be posted in your monthly newsletter and Student/Parent Handbook.

Annual Performance
The WCDA will hold its annual recital at the closing of the season.  The recital is the culmination of your child's achievements that is enjoyed by family and friends.  Participation in this memorable event is popular, however optional.  Annual performance, mid - May.
